WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to help investigate after an officer-involved shooting in Woodstock, Ga.
The shooting happened on Wednesday around 2 a.m. and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office authorities requested GBI assistance just after 3 a.m.
Police said they were initially called in to investigate a possible suicide threat to the 1400 block of Olde Mill Trace. Officers then learned that there was a woman and two young children in the home with an armed man – later identified as William Candler, 35, of Woodstock.
As officers arrived the woman and children safely fled the home.
