2 charged in Woodstock pharmacy robbery

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Police are investigating the possibility that two men accused of robbing a Woodstock pharmacy are also responsible for similar crimes throughout metro Atlanta.

The suspects were arrested early Friday outside the CVS in the 1600 block of Towne Lake Parkway.

Clarence Logan, 21, and Saabir Muhammad, 20, both of Douglasville, are accused of robbing the store. Surveillance images showed one of the suspects jumping over the pharmacy counter to grab prescription medications.

Responding Woodstock Police officers spotted the pair leaving the CVS. One was immediately arrested; the other was taken into custody after a short chase. Both are being held in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.

Robbery suspects crash in fatal getaway attempt

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Police say the crash on Highway 92 Monday morning that killed a passenger and injured a driver was part of an attempted getaway.

At 4:43 a.m., police were called to the True Religion Brand Jeans store at the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta for a burglary in progress. Mall security approached the store and a group of individuals ran. The security guards were able get descriptions of the vehicles and passed those along to police dispatch.

Woodstock police say the vehicles were spotted driving erratically on I-575. Two other cars were almost hit before the suspect vehicles exited I-575 onto Highway 92. Officers were trying to catch up with them when one of the cars crashed.

(WXIA) -- You'll see less construction than usual on Atlanta's interstates and highways this weekend -- and you have the Braves to thank for it.

Men try to lure Cherokee girl with promise of puppy

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Extra patrols in Cherokee County are looking for two men who tried to lure a girl into their truck with the promise of a puppy.

Cherokee County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Eagle Watch subdivision Monday evening. A 12-year-old girl told deputies two white men driving an older model green Ford F-150 with a camper shell approached her.

The girl was riding her scooter to the playground when the truck pulled up near her and asked her if she wanted a puppy. She was able to see a puppy inside the truck.

She told them men she didn't want the puppy. After that, she told investigators one man said, "If you get in the truck I will give you a puppy." She again said no and rode away.

Man arrested for hurling bottle

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. – Police say Facebook tips led them to a man accused of throwing a soda bottle out of his vehicle and onto a man's head.

Witnesses said they saw a man toss a plastic bottle from his Jeep window at the entrance of the Arbors subdivision on Towne Lake Parkway. Some who saw the actions were so appalled that they took pictures of the man and posted them on Facebook. Some even called the sheriff's office.

Those pictures, which included the suspect's tag number, led authorities to 22-year-old Michael Dotson.

Dotson told authorities that the man he struck with the bottle is a co-worker and that it was all a joke. The victim said otherwise.

"The suspect may have thought it was horse play, but the person who got hit in the head with the bottle certainly didn't think it was," Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Lt. Jay Baker said.
