Woodstock Students Participate in FalCan Food Drive

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Chapman Intermediate School in Woodstock is one of seven Cherokee County schools and 40 metro Atlanta schools to participate in the 2010 FalCan Food Drive School Challenge.

The event, sponsored by the Atlanta Falcons, helps to stock the shelves of the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Chapman's chapter of the Beta Club has challenged students to collect canned and/or non-perishable food items and prove their generosity by gathering more food than all of the other schools in metro Atlanta.

With the support of the PTA, the school is offering incentives for the 5th and 6th grade homerooms who collect the most cans. And the Chapman community has responded with enthusiasm.

Chapman students are holding a Spirit of Giving Pep Rally on Friday, Oct. 15, where they will crown a Spirit Prince and Princess during the 5th grade rally and a Spirit King and Queen for the 6th grade rally. The FalCan challenge ends on Monday, Oct. 18.
