WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- The message of Chanukah is a universal one, celebrating religious freedom for all and light over darkness.

The construction of a giant LEGO Menorah will highlight this year’s annual Chanukah celebration.

The public celebration, now in its sixth year is co-sponsored by the new Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta, the Cherokee County area business community and the Chabad Jewish Center. Festivities will begin with the Menorah build at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, followed by the lighting ceremony and Chanukah celebration at 5 p.m.

“We are always looking for new ideas to keep the kids on the edge of their seats. The LEGO Menorah was perfect,” said Rabbi Zalman Charytan, director of the Chabad Jewish Center. “The uniqueness of the Menorah is what the child remembers. Not only are we trying to give the children a unique and exciting Chanukah experience, we are teaching them that Judaism is fun and exciting.”

MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Center for Children & Young Adults (CCYA) proudly presents the Berenstain Bears in Family Matters the Musical!

This show is in town for one day only -- Saturday, Oct. 5. There will be three performances: 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Earl Smith Strand Theater on the Marietta Square. All proceeds benefit CCYA.

Adapted from the classic children's book series by Stan and Jan Berenstain, this special family-friendly exclusive show event brings everyone's favorite bear family to life in an exciting theatrical experience that kids as well as their parents will treasure for many years to come. As always, Bear Country is not without its complications: Brother Bear's grades are slipping, Sister Bear still has a few things to learn about making new friends, and Papa Bear just can't stop eating junk food. (WXIA) -- A bestselling author will visit three locations in metro Atlanta this week.

Cassandra King's novels include Making Waves, The Sunday Wife and The Same Sweet Girls. Her latest book, Moonrise, is based on Daphne du Maurier's popular Rebecca.

King will be at the Northeast/Spruill Oaks Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. The library is located at 9560 Spruill Road in Johns Creek.

On Friday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m., King will visit FoxTale Book Shoppe in Woodstock. She will also be at the Perimeter Center Barnes & Noble on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m.
