Cub Scouts build 'Boxcar Children' garden for local school | Community Spirit

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- For a while, the students at Little River Elementary School in Woodstock could only dream of getting the Boxcar Children-themed garden they wanted.
Cub Scout Pack 2010 turned that wish into reality.
The Cub Scouts and their parents donated their time, equipment and materials to the project for three weekends. Together, they created train tracks, garden beds and a "real" boxcar on the Little River campus.
As soon as the school receives soil, students will be able to fill their garden with carrots, onions and potatoes -- the same vegetables that the Boxcar Children cooked in their stew while they were living in the boxcar in the popular children's book series.
The Little River community is very grateful to Pack 2010 for all of the dedication and hard work that went into the project.
