Atlanta woman wanted for stealing $6K from local business
WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Woodstock Police are asking for the public's help in locating a forgery suspect from Atlanta.
Investigators secured warrants Monday for 39-year-old Avril Guice, charging her with two counts of first-degree forgery for passing fake checks from the checking account at Chattahoochee Gold Aquatic Center.
Police said Guice made unauthorized withdrawals from the business' account, using several fake checks to take approximately $6,000. The business owner reported the missing money to Woodstock Police on Aug. 12.
Surveillance cameras at banks in Atlanta and Decatur captured images of Guice cashing the checks. Investigators said the suspect processed the checks through her daughter's bank account as well as her own.
