Golf outing to help families in need | Events

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Golf enthusiasts everywhere are invited to attend the 12th annual golf outing sponsored by the Men of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.

The Marietta-based church holds the event to raise funds for needy families in metro Atlanta. It will be held on Monday, May 21 at Eagle Watch Golf Club.

"We will have a great day of golf at Eagle Watch," Men of St. Andrew United Methodist Church president Gordon Mosley said in a statement. "This is the only fundraiser that our group has each year to help us meet the needs of less fortunate families in our area during Thanksgiving and Christmas."

"For the last few years, we have provided a week's supply of groceries, including turkeys or hams, for 75 families during Thanksgiving and Christmas," Mosley added. "We have also provided Christmas gifts to their 200 children."

It costs $95 per person to participate in the golf outing. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. the day of the tournament, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The event also includes lunch, gifts and door prizes.
