BEST SPOTS: Inexpensive Dates

BEST SPOTS: Inexpensive Dates

NORTHWEST METRO – For this week’s installment of Best Spots, we’ve compiled a list of Inexpensive Date Spots for you to take your special someone.

In today’s economy, it’s important to find companionship which, in our opinion, is the cheapest form of entertainment. However, it’s the springtime, and people like to get out every now and then. So, check out these suggestions for fun under $15.

If you have an office crush, we have the place for you. Local lunch favorite, Brandi’s World Famous Hot Dogs serves up, according to some, one of the best dogs in town. This humble, hot dog restaurant is known for its Iced Tea and famous Chili Slaw Dog served on a perfectly steamed bun. Everything in this restaurant is under $9. So, both, your date and your pockets will thank you.

Woodstock High plans 'Greenstock' concert for Earth Day

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- In the spirit of the famous music festival that shares a name with their school, the students at Woodstock High have planned a musical celebration in honor of Earth Day.

Greenstock will be held at the Woodstock High School stadium (2010 Towne Lake Hills South Drive, 30189) from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 22. It is being organized by the school's Environmental Club.

The event promises to be both family-friendly and earth- friendly; Tree Sound Studios has even agreed to provide power for the stage and the sound equipment. A number of local bands, as well as Woodstock High teachers, will perform and raise awareness for environmental preservation.

"Our cause is to promote local energy efficiency and carbon reduction, and to educate others about sustainability," said Nikki Arenas, co-president of the Environmental Club.
