WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Police are investigating whether a string of robberies across metro Atlanta are connected – including an armed robbery of a Woodstock smoke shop that left a 20-year-old dead.
E.J. Delos Reyes was killed when two men robbed the Smoke 911 store where he worked as a clerk. Officials say the details of that crime match those of four separate robberies of GameStop video game stores. These stores are dozens of miles apart.
Family and friends commemorated Delos Reyes' life Friday afternoon.
"Whether it was a string of robberies or the only robbery, from their perspective, it was their child that died," said family friend Vidhya Sriram of Delos Reyes' parents. "To them, nothing else really matters."
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
