Carmel Elementary School Student Wins County Young Author's Fair for Kindergarten | Schools

Luke Renninger, a student at Carmel Elementary School, was recently named the Cherokee County Young Author’s Fair winner for Kindergarten.  Luke, a student in Ms. Owen’s class, feels very proud of this award and said he was “so surprised” when they told him he had won.  Assistant Principal Dr. Pam Green and Young Author’s Fair faculty sponsor, 2nd grade teacher, Charlotte Chastain came to Luke’s classroom to surprise him with the news of his award. 

Luke’s story was called The Camping Trip and it was about a camping trip that he and his dad took to Pensacola beach where they camped in a pop up camper and rode bikes to forts.   Luke’s parents, Martianne & Josh Renninger, are extremely proud of him and thought it was really special that he wrote about the boys trip he and his dad took together.
