Woodstock HS student to present at symposium

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- A junior at Woodstock High School is one of only 50 Georgia high school students chosen to present at this year's Georgia Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.

Parth Patel will now compete for the chance to be one of 12 finalists who will appear before a larger panel of judges with the goal of being chosen for the national symposium in May.

"Please wish him luch as he attends this prestigious research competition," Woodstock High principal Dr. Paul Weir said of Patel.

The state symposium will be held Feb. 23-25 at the University of Georgia. It gives talented high school students the opportunity to present original scientific research in front of judges and observers.

At the symposium, Patel will also listen to guest speakers, tour laboratories, exchange ideas with his peers and learn about careers in science, math and engineering.
