Mission D.A.D. to Host Benefit Golf Tourament
WOODSTOCK, GA -- Mission D.A.D., a Cobb County-based, non-profit status pending diabetic alert dog fund, will host its first annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 22.
Mission D.A.D.'s purpose is to raise awareness of diabetes and the benefit of diabetic alert dogs, and to encourage transparency for individuals living with the disease.
This new breed of service dog is trained to detect glucose changes for individuals within the diabetic population who are unable to recognize the potentially dangerous and life-threatening signs of radical hypoglycemic episodes.
Nearly 20% of people living with type 1 diabetes are affected by these episodes.
